On a public Facebook album, TrueFrame scrolls the grid, reads photo IDs, and listens to Facebook’s own GraphQL for image URIs.

Resolve originals
Each photo permalink is fetched with your existing session. The largest scontent / fbcdn variant wins — full_image over the viewer preview.

Save locally
Chrome downloads the files into Downloads/TrueFrame/. Optional deep scan walks the lightbox so no frame is missed.

After it installs, pin the icon. Then open an album and scan.

Open the TrueFrame listing and click Add to Chrome. Confirm the permission prompt — it only runs on Facebook album tabs.

From Chrome’s puzzle-piece menu, pin TrueFrame so the popup is one click from any album tab.

Open a public album
Any Facebook album you can already view. Public page albums work logged out; most others need your usual login.

Scan, then save
Click the TrueFrame icon. Scan album. Review the count and largest size. Download originals to Downloads/TrueFrame/.
Before you install
Does this bypass Facebook privacy?+
No. It only reads photos already visible in your browser session. If you cannot open the album, TrueFrame cannot either.
Is this the camera original?+
It is the largest JPEG Facebook still stores — often 1600–2048px on the long edge, sometimes more. EXIF is usually already stripped. Not RAW.
Will it work next month?+
Facebook changes markup. Scan uses three independent paths (DOM, GraphQL intercept, permalink harvest) plus an optional lightbox walk so a single UI tweak does not kill it. If a scan returns only thumbnails, use Deep scan.
Can I use this on private albums I own?+
If you are logged in and can see the album, yes. That is the same bar as right-click → save on each photo. Respect other people’s copyright.
What about videos?+
That’s TrueReel, a sibling extension. Same local-only model, for Watch / Reels / video tabs instead of photo albums.
Does anything upload to a server?+
No. Extraction, GraphQL intercept, and chrome.downloads all stay on your machine.
TrueFrame is not affiliated with Meta. Use it to archive albums you have the right to keep. Facebook’s terms still apply to how you use their service.
