Privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for the TrueFrame Chrome extension and this website. Paste this page’s URL into the Chrome Web Store listing. The store’s crawler must be able to open it without signing in.
Summary
TrueFrame does not have an account system, does not upload your photos, and does not send browsing data to TrueFrame. The extension reads Facebook album pages already open in your browser and saves image files to your Downloads folder through Chrome. Nothing from a scan is transmitted to a TrueFrame server — there isn’t one.
The Chrome extension
When you click Scan on a facebook.com or fb.com tab, TrueFrame reads photo IDs, image URLs, and album titles already present in that tab (including GraphQL responses Facebook sent to your session). It may fetch photo permalinks using the same cookies that tab already has, then download the largest JPEG from fbcdn.net into Downloads/TrueFrame/.
Chrome permissions and why they exist:
- downloads — write the original JPEGs to your Downloads folder after you click Download originals.
- storage — keep an in-progress scan in session storage if the popup closes. It is cleared when you close the browser.
- facebook.com, fb.com — read album pages and permalinks you already opened. TrueFrame cannot see albums you cannot open.
- fbcdn.net — download the stored image files those URLs point to.
TrueReel
TrueReel is the video sibling. It reads Watch, Reels, and video-tab pages you already have open, then saves MP4 files through Chrome’s download API. Same rules: no accounts, no upload, no analytics. Files land in Downloads/TrueReel/.
What we do not collect
No names, emails, phone numbers, payment details, precise location, advertising identifiers, or Facebook login credentials. TrueFrame does not sell data, does not run analytics, does not include ads in the extension, and does not use remote code.
This website
The site is a companion: install notes, a sample album of generated photographs, and downloadable zip files. The sample album never talks to Facebook. This site does not set its own tracking cookies. If advertising is turned on later, it will be Google AdSense on the website only — never inside the extension — and this policy will be updated. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use ads.
Children
TrueFrame is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the extension after an update means the new policy applies.
